About John Hennessy

Working within the health service has taught me the benefits of different types of exercise for the mind and body. Work in chiropractors and physiotherapy clinics, schools and sports clubs has allowed me to develop classes that are diverse and unique. My extensive experience means my classes are structured, sociable and fun. They are suitable for all ages, body types and abilities.

Back in 2006 I had a serious car accident leaving me with life changing injuries. When I was on the mend my physio advised me to take up pilates. She recommended john as she knew he was medically aware having been a paramedic, so he was in a great position to advise on the best exercise for me. I have been attending john’s class ever since. It has helped me maintain my core fitness , stretched and worked all my muscles and more importantly help keep my joint supple. I have learnt to breathe properly which I use as a relaxation technique as well as aiding my pilates exercising . Along these last 12 years that I have been attending johns pilates class, I have met some lovely people and made good friends to. I recommend john to all my friends and even random strangers who happen to talk to me about exercise . John has a lovely, good , fun nature but likes to achieve the best out of his class that you can.

I find I feel well all over when I leave class on a Friday.it even helps with my singing, due to breathing techniques we use, movements can be adjusted to suit any ability, but none are so difficult that you need to be double jointed, I love it.
